Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Docs AI (the "extension", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our Chrome extension.

Information we access

When you authorize the extension with your Google account, it may access the Google Doc that you have actively opened and choose to edit. This can include the document title, headings, text needed to identify the requested edit, and formatting information. If you paste an image into the extension, it processes that image to insert it into your document.

How we use Google user data

We use Google user data only to provide and improve the extension's user-facing document-editing features. The extension reads the active Google Doc to interpret your command and uses the Google Docs API to apply the edit you request. It uses the Google Drive file access you authorize only to upload an image that you paste into the extension for insertion in your document.

To interpret a natural-language command, the extension sends your command and a compact summary of the active document to our processing service, which forwards it to an AI model to generate the requested editing instruction. The summary may include the document title, headings, formatting details, and short body-text snippets needed to resolve your request. We do not use this data to train our own AI models.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or any purpose unrelated to providing or improving the extension's user-facing features. We share data only with service providers needed to deliver those features, and with Google APIs to process the document and Drive actions you request.

If you paste an image for insertion, the extension uploads it to your Google Drive and configures that image to be accessible by link so that Google Docs can retrieve and insert it. Do not use this feature for images you do not want to be accessible by link.

Storage, retention, and deletion

The extension does not operate a database for your Google Docs content, OAuth access tokens, commands, or uploaded images. OAuth tokens are handled by Chrome's identity service. Document edits and uploaded images remain in your Google account until you delete them. Our request-processing service is designed to process requests in transit and not retain document content after the request is completed.

You can revoke the extension's access in your Google Account security settings, uninstall the extension, and delete any images it uploaded from Google Drive. To request help or deletion of information that we control, contact us at siddharthk0204@gmail.com.

Security

We use HTTPS for communications with our service and Google APIs. No system can guarantee absolute security; please only authorize the extension if you are comfortable with the processing described in this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the extension or its data practices change. We will publish the updated version on this page and update its effective date.
